2019 Range Rover Sport P400e Changes, Specs, Prices – Range Rover Sport 2019 P400e is part of the recent promise of Jaguar and Land Rover to have an electrified version of each of their vehicles by the year 2020. P400e attached to the all-electric Jaguar crossover I-Pace as the second member of the new generation of JLR. Obviously, we can expect that many more JLR vehicles come with similar groups of the hybrid powertrain in the near future, especially in what 2020 is only two years of the model. Although we have not had any insider information on the subject, that would be a safe bet JLR will use very similar to P400e hybrid systems in most of its vehicles. The range includes everything from the sporty Jaguar F-Type to the luxurious Range Rover.

The new face of the 2019 Range Rover Sport p400e is more aggressive than ever. The previous design had much more surface in the bumper with a relatively lower air intake. Now, even the Range Rover Sports that are not SRV have a huge three-part bottom grille. However, the design does not affect the SUV’s ability to clear off-road obstacles, especially when combined with its adjustable air suspension. The lower chin still retains this appearance of a protective plate designed to not catch things. The upper grille and the front edge of the bell, however, seem almost unchanged.

 

The 2019 Range Rover Sport grill hides the charging port of this plug-in hybrid. It’s hidden under the Land Rover badge near the lighthouse. And speaking of lighthouses, these are also new. In fact, they are incorporating a new technology that Land Rover calls “Matrix Pixel LED Smart Lights”. Although the technology is new to Land Rover, we have seen other car manufacturers use it in Europe for some years. Basically, the headlights are super bright but avoid “dazzle” approaching cars blocking the light directed in the direction of the car in motion. The 2019 Range Rover Sport has an updated rear fascia that, like the front, is much sportier and more aggressive.

The most notable change is the HVAC control in the center console. Like the Velar, these controls are sensitive to touch and have intuitive airflow controls. JLR calls the Touch Pro Duo system. The temperature settings of two zones are established with the rotary controls. In addition, these controls are also duplicated as well as Terrain Response 2, with the air conditioning layout changing to the 4WD configuration and buttons changing to operate the various driving modes.

Other major changes include a new larger main information and entertainment screen. It is now a 10-inch touchscreen and runs the latest JLR software. A second 10-inch screen replaces analog meters with a full set of digital indicators and vehicle parameters. The driver can also configure the screen to his liking.

 

The interior seat is updated with a new leather upholstery with intricate seams and pipes. There are now 12 power ports to charge a variety of personal electronic devices. Two of these pugs are familiar captures to load larger devices such as laptops. These catches change according to the market. And just like other JLR products, the new Range Rover Sport comes with the JLR activity key.

The big news with the 2019 Range Rover Sport P400e is its hybrid powertrain to gasoline and electricity. At the heart of the system is a four-cylinder aluminum 2.0-liter engine family JLR Ingenium. The engine is mounted longitudinally in the engine compartment and is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new 85 kW electric motor and an onboard 7 kW charger are integrated into the transmission for the 13.1 kWh lithium-ion main battery, which takes the place of the spare tire under the floor of the cargo area. The total power of the system is estimated at 404 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. It’s a combination of the 300-horsepower 2.0-liter electric motor and the 116-horsepower electric motor. As mentioned, the P400e is not slow. It will reach 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 137 mph.

 

The charge occurs quickly and in several ways. First, the onboard charger uses the gasoline engine to recharge the battery when traveling. Of course, the P400e is designed primarily as a plug-in hybrid. It can be charged in just two hours and 45 minutes on a 32 amp charging system. With a normal household outlet that emits 10 amps, the P400e will change in seven hours and 30 minutes.

 

Release date and price

The P400e will be later as a 2019 model. Prices start at £ 61,315, or $ 81,248 at the current exchange rate with the United States. There are three levels of equipment available with the P400e. The basic version of HSE starts at £ 70,800 ($ 93,810), the HSE Dynamic starts at £ 73,800 ($ 97,792), and the Dynamic Autobiography starts at £ 84,400 (111,830). Naturally, the most expensive version of the Range Rover Sport is the SVR, which starts at £ 99,680.00, or around $ 132,000.
