2019 BMW M2 Competition
2019 BMW M2 Competition Review – The M2 competition received a significant number of additional features compared to the standard M2. The exterior is a bit more aggressive, while the interior has acquired new standard features and carbon fiber trim. There are also great innovations under the skin, where the M2 competition comes with an engine based on M4, with more strength, of course, and an improved chassis, cooling, brakes, and exhaust. All in all, the M2 Competition is a slightly more compact M4, which is good and bad for the company.

The first thing that stands out is the revised grille of two kidneys, which has larger and sharper elements. The design is obviously inspired by the newer BMWs, like the latest generation of the 5 series. The grille is also bright black instead of chrome. Although this is an option that you can obtain in different models, it is not standard in the M2 standard. The headlights have also been revised to include BMW’s latest adaptive LED technology.
The taillights are new, with a revised LED group and reversing lights located lower than before. The station has also been revised, but the changes are minimal and difficult to detect unless you look below. The black exhaust pipes complete the competition aspect. The 2019 BMW M2 Competition has introduced two new exterior colors for this model, Sunset Orange Metallic, and Hockenheim Silver Metallic.

The 2019 M2 competition has been redesigned and now incorporates the company’s Black Panel technology, while the leather-wrapped steering wheel features the red M1 / M2 button that changes the dynamics of the vehicle. The dashboard, door panels, and center console come standard with carbon fiber trim, a feature you will not find in the normal M2.
The standard seats are similar to the M2, but you can choose the new M Sport seats with integrated head restraints and “M2” badges. Of course, the seats are combined with M-spec safety belts. Finally, the coupe is equipped as standard with Dakota perforated leather. The upholstery comes in black only, but you can choose between blue or orange accents.
2019 BMW M2 Competition Engine Performance
With a power of 365 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque, the standard M2 was already an exciting coupe, but the Competition model had to do a better job to stand out. Fortunately, BMW has delivered and dropped more than 400 horsepower under the hood of the coupe. Specifically, the M2 competition arrives at the tarmac with 410 PS and 550 Nm of torque, which becomes 404 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of turn for the Americans.
That’s 39 more horsepower and 62 pounds more torque compared to the M2 standard, a considerable improvement for a facelift. It is also very good compared to the M4 since the competition version has only 16 horses and offers the same torque. When equipped with the manual, the M2 is slower, reaching 62 mph in 4.4 clicks.
2019 BMW M2 Competition Price
The M2 competition will become the most expensive Series 2 once it goes on sale. With the BMW M2 priced at $ 53,500, the M2 competition could start from almost $ 60,000. Although it may be a bit too close to the price of $ 67,700, the power-to-weight ratio and the amount of carbon fiber in the coupe could justify such a label. Initial rumors claimed that production would be limited to only 1,000 units, but now that we know that the M2 Contest is a replacement for the M2, the limited production series is no longer valid.
